About Babak

Babak Jafarian is a 20 years telecoms industry veteran with experience in management, system engineering and product development in both vendors and operators sides. In his latest role he is VP Engineering & Network Operations in Skyriver Communications, the largest Southern California wireless (WiMAX) broadband service provider. In this role, Babak manage the whole engineering and operations of the company; also defines the future technology path for the company. Prior to Skyriver, Babak was the co-founder and chief startegy officer of Ortiva Wireless; a leading mobile TV optimization platform provider, in 2004and acted as Chief Strategy Officer. Before Ortiva, he led the Network Solutions Group at Wireless Facilities, Inc. (WFI), and held management roles at Motorola and O2 in the UK. Babak holds a Ph.D. in electronic and electrical engineering from King’s College London and an MBA from the London School of Economics.
